We learnt that this description of the Nine Freedoms dovetails perfectly with Dustin’s experience -who tells us how he was introduced to Bibliotherapy, used it himself and then decided to write a book of short stories called The Healing Book to reintroduce the notion of reading for therapeutic effect.
Bibliotherapy (book healing) dates back to the Ancient Greeks. Over the entrance of the library in Thebes, they inscribed a phrase that means “healing place for the soul.
