Lyrics to the song that was inspired by the interview:
BEATING GUNS
Beat swords into ploughs
Sow seeds of peace
Grow a world of hope
And be released
Bang bang goodbye
This gun's reborn
Transformed in the fire
No more we mourn
Oh oh oh
VERSE
I love my country, I love freedom
I'll stand up for my rights I know that I need them
But the constitution never had guns or swords
Don't need no amendments to the words of the Lord
CHORUS
Beat guns into hammers
Melt bullets into nails
Build heaven on earth
Cos like this we fail
Fill your head with bravery
Make your heart sincere
Don't need to hold a gun
Once you let go of fear
Oh oh oh
VERSE
I beat by guns into garden tools
Gonna grow food for the hungry
If someone breaks into my house to steal
Gonna sit 'em down - cook 'em a meal
CHORUS
Hammer out hatred
Smelt down mistrust
Forge a new future
That's fair and just
Lock and load with love
Set your sights on harmony
Take a shot at solidarity
Pull the trigger on peace
VERSE
My little boy went to school one day
He never came home
Don't pray for him
Don't pray for me
Pray for gun control
No more guns, please
CHORUS (minor)
Hammer out hatred
Smelt down mistrust
Forge a new future
That's fair and just
Lock and load with love
Set your sights on harmony
Take a shot at solidarity
Pull the trigger on peace
