We all plateau. It's inevitable. You work really hard at something and pour your heart and soul into it. The improvements come thick and fast. Soon you've got to a level you never dreamed possible. But then you start to slow down. Maybe you don't practice as much. Even when you do you're not making leaps and bounds like you used to. You plateau and it's tempting just to stay at that level. With me a big example is the guitar. I haven't improved at all in the last 10 years. I play well enough to get by, now I've poured my energy into other things. It happens to us all. And hey, that's ok. Have a drink and relax. Or not? Listen to the track
LYRICS:
Well at last it has paid off
You've mastered the art
Of the world that once was closed to you
You've become a part
You put in 10 thousand hours
Had the determination and drive
But the sacrifices were worth it
Cos finally you've arrived
At the summit... but no no no... you're stuck on
The OK Plateau, oh oh oh
The OK Plateau, no no no
As you've woken with awareness
And see a dusty world
But everyone's so friendly
They say settle down
But you've put in so much hard work
And you know you've more than them
So you redouble your efforts
To be better than these men
And reach the summit, but no no no.... you're stuck on
The OK Plateau, oh oh oh
The OK Plateau, no no no
The plateau is so seductive
It sure offers a lot
Regular folk look up to you
Wishing they had what you've got
So few can tell the difference
Between the great and merely good
And perhaps if you drink hard enough
Even you've misunderstood
And slowly slow
You can it let go....
Soon all you know, know, know, is
The OK Plateau, oh oh oh
The OK Plateau, no no no
The OK plateau oh oh
